I received the BS degree in Geography at the Universidad Católica, in Chile, and I am certificated in Geological Risks from the University de Genève, in Switzerland. Currently, I am finishing a MS degree in Geography at the Université de Québec à Montréal, in Canada.
My main research interest is on natural risk management. Some significant dangers related to this area are heat waves, cold waves, floods, earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis, typhoons and avalanches. I'm very interested in "el niño" and "la niña" phenomena and their consequences on populations.
Climate change is a big concern for me. Issues like lost of urban vegetation, urban sprawl, increase of air and water pollution and development of sustainable transport plans are some important challenges for me as well.
Presently, I am working as a Geomatics Specialist in AECOM wich is one of the most largest and most respected providers of professional technical and management support services in the world.

I received the BS degree in Geography and the MS degree in Environmental Planning from the Universidad de Chile, in Chile. My past research was focused in the assessment of the urban heat island effect of Santiago, Chile, by using remotely sensed thermal data.
My current interest is based on the assessment of urban forest by using hyperspatial imagery and the evaluation of forest damage by using satellite hyperspectral data. Recently, I began to develop, in conjunction with the Universidad Mayor, the first hyperspectral system in Chile, in order to apply it in issues associated with precision farming and forest management.
